What we can help with

Messages about the site itself get a reply. That includes a figure that looks wrong or out of date, a calculator that behaves oddly on your device, a result you can't reconcile with your own numbers, a broken link, or a suggestion for a calculator that doesn't exist yet.

Data corrections are the most useful thing you can send. Every regulatory figure on this site — federal tax brackets, FICA and contribution limits, standard deduction amounts — is stored with the date it was last checked against its official source. Those figures change, sometimes mid-year, and a reader noticing before we do is genuinely helpful. If you can include the IRS, SSA, or CFPB page you're working from, the fix takes minutes instead of hours.

What we can't help with

We can't answer questions about your personal tax or financial situation, and this address is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional (see our Terms of Service). Every calculator here is a general-purpose estimate built from public rules; none of them can account for the specifics a CPA, tax preparer, or financial advisor would work through with you. Questions of the form “what should I do with my money” won't get an answer, because answering them responsibly requires knowing far more about you than an email can carry.

We also can't accept sponsored posts, paid links, or guest articles. The site doesn't publish them.

Getting a useful reply faster

If you're reporting something that looks wrong, the calculator name and the values you entered are usually enough for us to reproduce it. Most calculators have a Copy link button that encodes your inputs into the URL — pasting that link tells us exactly what you were looking at. For a display problem, your browser and whether you were on a phone or a computer helps.

This is a small project maintained by one person, so replies aren't instant, but every message is read. Corrections to published figures are prioritized over everything else.

Questions that already have an answer

These come in most often, so answering them here is faster than answering them by email.

“Your calculator gives a different number than my payroll / my lender / my tax software.” Almost always a modeling difference rather than an error, and the specific one is listed on each calculator under “what this calculator does not cover.” The two most common: the paycheck calculator uses annual tax brackets as a proxy for the IRS payroll withholding tables, which differ slightly; and state income tax is exact only for no-tax and flat-rate states, with progressive-bracket states shown as a labeled estimate. The methodology page collects all of it in one place.

“Where did this tax figure come from?” Every regulatory number is published with its source and verification date in the reference section. If the figure you are asking about is there, the primary source is one click away; if it is not, that is worth an email.

“Can I use your data or embed a calculator?” The reference tables are facts drawn from public government sources — use them freely, a link back is appreciated but not required. Embedding a calculator or republishing article text is a different question; ask and it will get a straight answer.

“Do you accept guest posts, sponsored content, or link exchanges?” No, none of the three, and there is no price at which the answer changes. The reason is in the editorial standards: nothing here is recommended in exchange for payment, and accepting placed links would make that untrue.

“Will you add a calculator for X?” Possibly, and suggestions genuinely do become tools. What helps most is describing the question you are actually trying to answer and what you currently do instead — usually a spreadsheet. That tends to produce a better tool than a feature request does.

Privacy

Emails are used only to answer the message you sent. They aren't added to a mailing list, and nothing is shared with third parties. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled across the site — including the fact that the numbers you type into any calculator never leave your browser.
